Default Superchips

Alright I finally got the Flashpaq and now can't get the thing to flash the Jeep.

I downloaded the software and connected the programmer, everything installed correctly. Once that was done I went out to flash the Jeep and cannot get past a G-3F code. From searching I found that is typically from not going to the "on" position of the ignition switch, but I have. I have tried fast and slow, even hooked up a alternate power source thinking the battery voltage was too low but that did not work, always end in a G-3F. Says to call Superchips but they are closed for the holidays.

When I plug the controller in it says to check for updates later, which I assume means that the thing is fully updated from the initial download, but maybe something is wrong there.

Anyone have any suggestions??

Thanks for the help.

Make sure you are turning the key all the way to the run position. Perhaps start your engine and note where the key rests. It's the second click in, give it a try.

Yep, 9 times out of 10 that is the issue. People turn the key to ACC, and not to ON (which is just before the engine actually starts turning over.

I had an issue like that as well. Give them a call and they will send you an 'update'. It cleared my unit up for me and it has worked great since.
You'll like the results from the tune

I don't want to be debbie the downer but just to prepare you for the worst. I had the same problem. I was definitely turing the key to the correct position. I called Superchips and they talked me through a process to fix the problem. It can be found here.

h**p://www.superchips.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=2&t=11102

That ended up not working so they sent me what they called a "one shot". That did not work and I had to send my tuner back to them.

If you are infact turing the key all the way to "ON". You can either wait to call them tomorrow or try the method above. Superchips themself had me do this.

Yeah I definitely have been turning it to "on". I will try the fix or wait to call superchips after the holiday. I guess I have been waiting for a year, another week is not going to kill me.

Thanks for the help,

Had my chip over 1 yr it worked great. Tried to update it on line the other day and it would not rec my jeep. Called superchip problem was I use Sprint internet not dsl hard line. I have a portable int. Line so programer won't pick it up and for security reason locked programer. I have to send it to superchip to fix. Just FYI like I said before I had hard line dsl and it worked fine.....hope u fix it

When your programmer is completely updated, does it just say "Vehicle file has been saved - check for update at a later date" on the bottom of the Superchips Xpress update screen?

I just did the different USB port fix that was posted above. I am going to head out to the Jeep right now. Just want to ensure that I am working correctly on the computer side.

Here goes nothing...

Thanks for the help.
