Default Superchips data logging for auto trans temp and engine knock/ping?

I have been running the Superchips Flashpaq for ~9 months and love it (tow tune FTW). Now, I'd like to look a little closer at the system while it's running.

In the data logging menus, I see what looks like transmission temperature in two different places but they don't seem to report any values. Does the Flashpaq really provide this? If so, how?

Also, I'd like to try the 93 octane tune but want to use the Flashpaq's data logging to monitor for ping and a reaction to that (timing back off?). Has anyone done this before? I've searched the "ping" thread and didn't see data logging mentioned. If so, what variables did you look at?

Thanks

I asked them that same question on their forum the other day. They are basically place markers that haven't been implemented yet. So sometime in the future, I would expect it to start working after an update.

Anyone know exactly what to look at for ping/knock?

I don't know but I order one yesterday. Should be here on tuesday. I guess your diggin the 87 tune? I hope there is some improvements in our altitude. I here different things. I had a 2 hundred dollar credit at 4 wheel parts. I hope it wasn't a waste of money.

BTW. I had a harley that pinged. It sounded like bb's hittin a pan.

I run the tow tune, 91 octane fuel, with an automatic transmission and am satisfied with the results.

I'm hearing a noise that could be pinging but would like to use the programmer's data logging to figure that out. Reading on the superchips forums earlier this evening it appears that there's a "knock retard" shown in the data logging that indicates pinging. I'll try that.

I emailed Superchips on the Tranny Temp and they replied it was still not available on JK's.

I'm running the milage economy setting but find that I get more milage (and a lot more torque / ower) on the 93 Power Tune. Weird.

Overall, averaging 18 MPH city / highway combined, but I have the Gobi racks that take away +/- 2MPH (any rack will do that).

Saving gas with Superchips is an urban legend

I just found this thread today after I started a new thread about the pinging noise. My apologies for starting a new thread about the same thing. I am pretty mechanically inclined and the pinging noise seems worry some. It does it in the 87, 91, fuel save tuning as well as stock. I am wondering if it is pre-detonating which eventually will burn up the valve seats. I am going to take it to the dealer and see if I can take one of the mechanics for a ride to see if they know what it is. I am glad I am not the only one with the noise. Any other opinions of what the noise might be?
