Default Superchips Flashpaq and Mountain driving

Heidi and I are heading out to Ouray Colorado in September. I bought the Superchips Flashpaq and have been pleasantly surprised at my results here in the midwest at about 700' above sea level. What I was wondering is when driving at altitudes of 10K' or greater what "tune" are members setting in the ECM?

I agree with both planman and Seer as at higher elevation you are getting a lot less air making it more difficult to consume all the slower burning high octane fuels. Being somewhat air starved and the additional low end power you'll want to have makes the towing tune with 87 Octane seem ideal.

Default Superchip

Did the superchip help your fuel mileage in the regular (non-towing) mode?

I have been contemplating getting the flashpack but I havent talked to anyone that had it.

While I don't want to attribute all of my efficiency changes to the Flashpaq as I have headers, exhaust, 180 degree T-stat and a CAI, the Flashpaq does allow all those components to run more effectively than the stock settings of the PCM. I can pull over 20 highway mpg on 35s which seems to be somewhat of a rarity.

Again, this is not totally attributable to the Flashpaq although my collection of components with a Flashpaq at the helm definitively has both increased performance and efficiency.

Hey guys thanks for the kind words. I'm honored and more than a bit humbled as I learn 10 times more on this site than I post. I certainly know how to make a drag car hook up and go straight, but some of the off road suspension stuff that people here know makes my jaw drop. A great community to share information and glad I can make my little contribution.
