Default Superchips Question

What benefit does the Performance 91 or 93 give the vehicle? Do you have to run that octane to use that particular tune? Just trying to figure out what best tuning is for my JK. I have a 07 Rubicon Unlimited. 35x12.50x17 tires, 4:10 gears, Automatic. I want to use the Flashpaq to its fullestr potential but don't want to screw anything else up. What are others doing with theirs?

I run 91 Octane Gas in mine using 93 Octane tuning in Superchips.

W/ 35's and a 3" Suspension and 3:73's on a auto i'm getting 12.1 MPG

So I doubt the higher octane is going to be the best tune for gas MPGs.

Pluke, you need to regear...

Unlimited Auto w/5.13's and 35's. Running 87 tune/gas, I am getting appx 14.5mpg in town, 16.5-19 highway (depending on speed and how mountainy it is)

Ran the 91 tune/gas for a month, and actually had less power and slightly lower mpg's. (most other posters indicate more power with the 91 tune) Haven't tried 91 tune with 87 gas.

Best advice is to try several tunes for yourself and see what works best.

Thanks for the replies. I have used th 87 Octane tune and am getting 12 MPG. The better mpg tune I was getting 14-15. I haven't tried the tow tune yet. I am interested to see that. Pulling a utility trailer with 2 dogs on the interstate I was getting 7-8 MPG before the Superchip.

i just added the superchips and found an awesome improvement over I had.

I have an '08, running 33's and 3:73 with auto. I am set at 93 but use 91 octane and so far so good, gettin about 14 mpg. I also have a magnaflow exhaust and aem brute force intake.

Getting ready to change the gears out to 5:13......

Does SuperChip recommend any particular chain for better overall fuel quality?

Usually buy from a "mom and pop" gas station up the street and jeep runs great (I only put in 91, that's the highest octane at pumps here) but today I bought gas at a Shell station and I am running SOoOOOoooo doggy and sluggish! Can't wait to burn this tank out. Might put some booster in this tank.
Can't belive that a large companys gas is so crappy compared to mom an pop shop! But I have read plenty of postings from superchips reps and they blame alot of issues on "bad gas" and I am inclined to agree. The chip seems very sensitive to gas quality but I am still very pleased with it.
The gas quality was something that was discussed in depth when I was running a diablosport predator with my Challenger. It really does make a difference. I know a couple of times I had to actually pull the timing using the predator until I refueled.

Default Superchips Question

I have a 08 Sahara Unlimited with a 3.5" lift with 35's and auto tranny and stock 3.73 and I am getting 15.7 mpg around town with the tow tune. This has worked well for me.
