Default Superchips question

Sorry if there is a thread about this already I couldn't find one. I have a 2012 with 3.21 gears that I just put 35's on. Will the flashcal help with my gas mileage that I lost because my jeep don't want to shift and is running over 3000rpm's running 65 on the interstate at times? I don't have a lot of $$$ and was trying to keep from regearing. Thanks

The 87 Tune helped with my mileage (although I don't run 35s). You can also adjust the shift points up/down ... that might help.

But, IMHO, you'll need to save some dollars and regear your diffs.

I have used the flashcal on my 2012 sahara auto with 3.21 gears with 35 x 12.50 x 18 toyo mts and i corrected my speedo and it seems to help the transmission shift better also the eco light stays on alot more. I was averaging around 15mpg hand calculated and now averaging 16.5 -17 mpg. I was ready to regear the day i bought it when i found out it had 3.21's but the flashcal really helps. it wasnt too bad before but it's fairly flat where i live. I have no regrets on purchasing the flashcal. just my two cents.

Ok thanks. This really helps. I think I'm gonna get this. Not bad for the price.

OP is asking about the Flashcal, not the Flashpaq. Flashcal is simply like the Procal. Adjusts speedo and a few other options. It is not a tuner so no 87 tune available.

And to the OP, yes, getting your speedo right will make a big difference in shifting. The flashcal or procal will help you do this. It may FEEL like more power but its simply just shifting at correct spots now. And you can't get accurate mpg with your speedo messed up because that also affects your odometer which is off. So hand calculating won't work unless you know for sure what mileage you actually traveled.

I had to use my handheld GPS to get mileage but before recalibrating my computer would avg 13.8 mpg and now it reads 17 mpg most of the time.

Be careful what you do that will void your warranty though... i know most dealers can tell immediately when you mess with the computer.

As long it is returned to stock tune and driven awhile before taking it in, they will never know.
