Default Superchips question: Complete removal to swap Jeeps

Sometime soon, my next JK Unlimited will be arriving at the dealer. I would like to completely remove the Superchips flashpaq from my 08 Unlimited. I plugged in the tuner, and chose the Stock option. Will that do it, or is there more I need to do to make sure it works with my new Jeep? There still shows a vehicle ID on the main screen, something tells me I need to do more.

Any help is appreciated, as I have about a week to get it figured out and really would rather not have to buy another programmer due to my own stupidity.

My superchips flashpaq instruction manual says that as long as you return the previous vehicle back to stock, you can use it on your next. I guess this keeps you from tuning multiple vehicles.

I just plugged the tuner into my PC, and it did still show a Vin # on the Vehicle ID screen.

I wonder if there is a setting in there I missed when I was returning it to stock.

Going to PM Scott and see what he thinks.

When you plug it into your jeep, does it still show anything? Tire size, gears, tpms setting? If so, delete them.

I just went through it again in the Jeep. It shows nothing for options, and all indications are that I returned it to stock, but it still gives the last 9 digits of the VIN on the first screen.

I think (hope) I am safe to use install it on my new one.

It sure makes a difference in performance without it installed. Can't wait to toss it into the Rubicon.

I just did this to take my Jeep to the dealer. When you first plug the programmer in, if it says it's linked to your vehicle then you will not be able to use it on another vehichle.

On mine I did a "quick tune" back to stock. That reset my tune, my tire size and my gear ratio. But it was still saying it was linked to my vehicle when I first plugged it in. I asked over on the SuperChips forum and they told me to check all the advanced features.

I found that my TPMS threshold was still set to 29 PSI. I went into the advanced features and reset it to stock. After that it no longer said it was linked to my vehicle when I first plugged it in.

Thanks Doc! I will try that and see if it does it. I don't remember messing with the TPMS setting, but I certainly could have.

I responded to Kastiron's PM directly but thought it would be a good idea to also post the data here on this matter.

The programmer was built to store the vin info from the last vehicle tuned even if the vehicle is returned to stock. I believe that helps customers know if the tuner is new or used.

The easiest way to determine if the vehicle is tuned or not is to pay close attention to the programmers initial prompts once plugged into the vehicle or PC as it will state if the tuner is vinlocked to a vehicle or not right at the beginning.

If anyone has any questions feel free to let me know.

Scott

Default FLASHPAQ F4 Jeep JKU 07

Hi, Scott. How can I know if my FlashPaq F5 device is properly decoupled? My question is because I want to sell it.
