Superchips return to stock setting??
When I return to stock to take into the dealer for service, does it change my tire size setting back? Also when I regear will it also change that back to stock each time?
For advanced functions like TPMS shut off, I find those have to be returned to stock separately from the tune program.
And if I can make a suggestion..put some miles on your Jeep after returning to stock so your sensors have time to reset. Could take as long as 100+ miles to do so from what I've experienced on my recent state inspection fiasco! But I've heard it is usually 40 or 50 miles on average. If the dealer tried reading your computer for certain things, some sensors might not be online (O2 and Evap for me!) which points to the computer being recently flashed or the battery being disconnected for some time. I like the battery story but it still means some things can't be tested until they have all been reset.

When we change the gears, say from 3.73 to 5.13, we have to reprogram right? Do you take it to the dealer to do this so when I return it to stock, that is the new stock? Can you drive it without reprogramming for bigger gears?? Sorry for the newb questions!!
First, yes you can drive it without re-programming it for new gears and/or tires. The issue you have is your speedo will be off which in turn causes bad shift points and bad mileage tracking. So you really do want to have stuff re-programmed when these types of mods are done.
You can have the dealer re-program all of your stuff from what I understand (assuming they are WILLING) but most will charge a fee for it.
With the Superchips, you control the changes and you get the benefit of further engine tuning and little extras like turning off or adjusting TPMS for off-road use and system monitoring.
If you use the Superchips for your changes you MUST RETURN YOUIR VEHICLE TO STOCK prior to bringing it in for dealer work. What will happen is the dealer will almost always flash your computer to the newest update which overrides your original stock settings. If you are running a superchips tune when this happens, the next time you plug your superchips in, it won't recognize you Jeep because it doesn;t have thos new stock settings backed up. If this happens, you have to go back to Superchips for them to unlock your programmer....probably for a fee!
Assuming you follow the correct steps and return your vehicle to stock before bringing it in, the next time you hook up the Superchips, it will automatically download your new stock settings to the programmer. But as I said, if you didn't return it to stock before the dealer flashes your system, you will have issues.

TPMS disable is a separate function, and will not enable through the 'return to stock'. So if you have disabled the tpms lights, you will need to enable them also before going to the dealer.
Ok, just to clarify, the shift points are based on the speedo?? I thought it was based on RPMs?
I believed that you could change tire size and it would only affect the mileage/speedo reading and not affect anything "important"??
