I would like to get one soon(money permitting) and wondered what people thought about it. i know it allows locker use in 4hi and does tire cal. and a bunch of other goodies. i read up on stuff before i buy, and being a mechainc i know the benefits of a tuner program to the pcm. thanks for any help!!!!

I was a little sceptical at first, as I've had mixed results with other programmers in the past, but I'm very pleased with mine.

I originally ran it with the 93 tune (that's what I had in the tank), but after trying the tow and 87, I've settled on the 91 octane tune.
The 93 octane gas around here is of course ruined with ethanol, like everywhere I presume, but for my Jeep, driving habits, local gas, the 91 tune seems like the best compromise, and it's the most common octane available over 87. It seems to have smoother/equal power down in the 1500-2200 rpm range as compared to the 93 tune. It also revs happily to over 5K, and pulls very well on the highway in 5th or 6th . Gas mileage is improved over the 93 tune, but specific numbers will have to wait for one of my regular round trips to a distant job site.

Jpop, have you tried the 91 tune? It's a winner for sure. To me it seems just as "peppy" as the 93 tune, but less "nervous" meaning smoother.

I haven't tried the 91 tune yet. What you say could make a lot of sense as at 93 octane the timing may not be able to advance far enough to burn all the fuel and causing a little bit of the nervousness you describe. I definitely don't notice any of that when I'm at cruising rpm and I'm moderately under geared so I'm feathering the throttle at roll out.

I'll definitely give it a go when I have a two tank trip coming up in another week and a half.

Thanks!

I can't tell a big difference between the 91 and 93 tune, but it does have more power in 6th gear accelerating on rolling hill on the 93 tune.

I need to try some of the other "flavors" of 93 octane around here, but for the local stations the 91 or 93 octane gas with the 91 tune is better than the 93 octane gas with the 93 octane tune. At least in respect to driveability and low rpm smoothness.
I suspect you're right that the 93 will give a bit more power in 6th at 2500 rpm than the 91, but the 91 tune even runs smoother than the 93/93 with the 89 octane gas.
The 91 looks to be a good compromise if you gas up at a variety of stations like I do.

You never see 91 octane anywhere here. Its 93 octane everywhere. Along with ethanol crap...
