I have the EPi 9.0 and love it. It definitely saved me when my friend couldn't even pull me out...lol

Not trying to start a debate but I'd take a 9000 lbs winch over an 8000.
Even more so if I were buying it for a 4DR.

Hey guys, I'm working on getting set up with Ramsey right now. I chose Ramsey partly because I wanted a top quality American made product. So the choice was between Ramsey and Warn. When I started paying attention to what winches the wreckers use, it seemed to be all Ramsey, so here I am.

I've got the REP 8.5e for $485 plus shipping (Ca. res. pay sales tax). It's an 8500 lb. winch with a limited lifetime warranty. Shipping should be less than $60 within the lower 48.

Please email me if you're interested in a shipping quote. There's a link to my email address on my website and a link to my website in my signature.

Does this mean a Woods Stubby Front bumber is imminent with winch combo

I like superwinch, I bought one myself. I would go with the epi9. The 'i' means the solenoid is integrated and in my opinion makes it much less susceptible to damage and weather.

What's the HP rating on that? The HP rating on the REP 9.5e is only 3.8 and I couldn't find the 8.5 rating. I did see that it's a permanent magnet motor, though.

I just checked the catalog and it doesn't say. It has a 294:1 gear ratio, so I'm certain that this is not a fast winch.

There are pros and cons to both. If you're winching every day, a series wound motor has some benefits. Then again so does a hydraulic motor. A permanent magnet motor is generally more efficient. For weekend offroad use we're splitting hairs though. When the price is under $500 the most important factors are reliability and line pull strength (safety aside, of course).
