I talked with a 2006 unlimited owner yesterday at a
gas station.

He said he bought a chip from Hypertech that enhanced
his top end speed to greater than 100 mph.

Anyone heard of this?

He said he just plugged it into the diagnostic port.

I haven't looked the company up yet.

He probably didn't put in a chip, he probably used the Power Programmer III which lets you change fuel timings, rev limiter, shift points, etc....and does work. According to the site, it works on Wranglers 96-04...so maybe before long they'll have a JK version.

This would be good for adjusting the speedometer for different tires as well.

I am saving my pop bottle money to buy an Airaid CAI and a UNICHIP. Apparently the combo will give quite a boost (at least that is what the tuner shop in my neighbourhood professes- he ordered both for his JK).

I will wait a month to see how he likes it first

What I got was a resistor in a 39 cent envelope...says to disconnect IAT,bend resistor into a "u" shape and stick each end in the female side of the IAT fitting, won't fit and you cannot reconnect the IAT...come on says a chip (no way)...I feel like I bought the bridge...A TOTAL SCAM!!
