Default Suspension Help

I just bought my first wrangler and its awesome, now im looking to lift it a minimum of 4" and was looking at the teraflex 4" system and the fabtech 5" shortarm. Both appear to be good complete lifts and at a good price and now im stuck between picking one or the other.

Suggestions, input, and/or pics would be great!

What size tire are you going to run?

Have you browsed through the FAQ's yet? Lots of info on tire size vs lift height, what components you want for various lift heights, gearing, etc.

Haven't read much about Fabtech, but those 4" TF coils will give 5+ inches on a 4door, closer to 6 inches on a 2door. Plenty of room for 37's...

since my jeep is mainly used for daily driving is the flexarm system necessary or is that geared more towards offroading? ill eventually be upgrading to a full flex system but for now i wont be riding many trails and am looking to save a little cash while still getting a nice lift

On or offroad you need a complete overhaul . To get a nice riding dd with 4" of lift plan on replacing every componet of suspenction . Get a long arm kit.

I disagree, you don't need a complete overhaul with a long arm kit. It may have been the case with a TJ but not with the JK.

There are plenty of good standard arm kits that will service all but the most demanding needs on and off road. The TF 4" is a perfect example. There are also kits from Rock Krawler, RE and AEV that are good candidates.

There is nothing wrong with some long arm kits, but they are not required based on the needs you describe.

Regarding how that much lift will look with 35s just go to the Show and Tell section there are plenty of pics of many combinations. Some think that too much lift with relatively small tires looks like a roller skate, while others won't hesitate to roll on 37s with minimum lift where the tires are stuffed in the wheel wells.

Pick the combination that fits your taste, that's what its about. Who cares what the rest of us thinks. Many of us are not followers, we drives Jeeps because like following our path

i personally don't think that you can even put fabtech in the same place as terra flex. i am not a fan of the big name companies (rancho, skyjacker, superlift, fabtech, pro comp but some will swear by them). i don't think you need to spend that kind of cash tho for 35's and street driving. a good 2 to 3 inch kit from ome, terre flex would be much cheaper and serve you well. heck a budget boost would work if you don't want to wheel it. dave at northridge will prob be your best deal for a package deal. give him a call and see what he recomends and what kind of deal he will make you.
