Default Suspension Question

I used to run a 4" long arm kit on my TJ and the ride was awesome...

Now that I have a 4 door JK I'd like to get the 4.5" Rubicon Express Long Arm kit but it costs way too much. Is anyone running a 4" short arm kit? If so, what are your thoughts? What kit are you running? Does it still ride nice on the road? Any driveshaft problems? Any bumpsteer problems? What size tires?

Thanks for any help you can give...

Anything on the 4 door is going to be better than a TJ. The short arm kits are fine and most ride better than stock from what I've read on here, my Skyjacker does.

No.....I just haven't had time to get away due to work issues and such. So far, just some mild trail riding, but I love this thing. I'm just waiting to get it to Tellico and test it out, which will hopefully be soon since I have help at work now and get som weekends off.

The control arms on a JK are significantly longer than the arms on a TJ and I think you will find that your ride and handling will be great at 4" lift without having to go long arm. And, on a Unlimited, you will not have any drive shaft problems (2-doors should replace rear shaft with a double cardin U-joint style shaft).

I just put a Superlift 4" on my 2 dr and the ride is much stiffer than stock. They have two spring options on the Superlift, one set for the 2 dr and another for the 4dr. I wonder if I got the wrong springs, because my ride is pretty stiff. The first night driving it, I was on the 91 freeway in LA and hit a bad section of road and I just about bounced into the next lane, but since then the suspension has softened quite a bit.

The steering has a little bump steer, but that should be corrected after I get my alignment this weekend.

Hope this helps.
