Default Suspension question

The other day I was working on my Jeep and my neighbor mentioned that it looked like the suspension was being weighted down with all the gear I have added to it. Well my question is what springs and shocks do I need to bring it back up to where it should be. There is no lift on it right now. All help is appreciated.

A leveling kit should bring it back to stock ride height.

Let's start by finding out exactly what gear you have.

I don't think I have that much extra weight on it, but I was told it does look like it rest lower then before. The gear I have on it is : ARB bull bar deluxe, Recon 10,500 lbs winch, Gobi Recon rack, hi-lift jack, full size spare( Falken Wildpeak a/t 265 75R18), and some chains in the back.

ummm, have you taken into consideration how much each of these items weigh and then add them all together? have you ever stood on your front or rear bumper to see how much your jeep will droop with just your added weight alone? if i could guess, the weight of your mods equal to maybe one or two additional you's standing on your jeep.

You could always go the budget boost or leveling kit route which would be much cheaper than a full lift kit. If you only want springs you can usually buy them on their own, or if you have a sport you can pick up a set of Rubicon springs which will be a little stiffer than the sports.

Rancho has a new 2 inch kit with their RS9000 adjustable shocks with $100 rebate until 6/30/12. You may also want to consider the 3 inch sport kit with RS9000, there is a $500 rebate with that kit and shocks. I got a great deal on my Rancho kit from Bryan(Bustabizz) at 4wd Hardware.

Info on the Rancho kits here: https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/spon...eep-jk-227066/

Or like danmojo82 said you can go with Rubicon springs. Info here:

Wayoflife,

I just had my wife take the measurements while I was standing on both the front and rear bumper. These are taken from the lip of the fender to the top of the tire, I couldn't find a ruler to inside the wheel well. Front tire without me on it was at 3.5 inches then after I climbed on it was at 2". The rear was 2.75" to a 1.25".
