Suspension upgrade
Hello. I was wondering if I could get some advice. I bought a MotoFab 3" lift for my wife's 2017 JK. It's one that's used like a leveling lift kit for pick ups. I put one of these 3" kits in my 2016 RAM 1500 and liked it very much. Doing so, I bought aftermarket extented upper control arms for the front, because of issues with balljoint angle and pressure pulling the ball joints apart. Will i need to do the same for my wife's Jeep? This is our 1st Wrangler, and the 1st attempt at an upgrade. Thank you in advance.
Welcome to the forum. IMO with a 3" lift, geometry correction brackets or adjustable control arms to bring the CASTER back into OEM Spec .. being your 1st Wrangler and a solid front axle lack or low caster is a significant contributor to steering wobble after bumps .. many times referred to as DW (death wobble).. suggest some youtube videos that show DW and how to correct steering geometry to eliminate. On the Correction Brackets I use Rancho which are welded units that bolt on and have 2 locations for amounts of lift to continue to utilize the OEM control arms.
