Default Swaping a front axle assemble

I am saving and planning my next big upgrade I want to remove that Dana 30 upfront and install a 44. I want to keep my 3.73 ratio but a want a electric locker. My question other than the wiring is there anything else I have to prep for to make this swap happen, and what are your thoughts on installing a sway bar disconnect durning this upgrade and can it be wired into a SPod system along with the locker ??????

Thanks everyone

You can buy a new rubi axle for around $1650. Bolts right up and then just wire the locker. Sell your axle and you're only into it for about $1000.

Swapping the axle is not harder than putting a lift on. Takes 4 hours max if you know what you're doing.

Yes, complete assembly. I know two people locally who recently bought them. Some guy on eBay (legit seller) out of OH. I think they got them for about $1650 shipped. I did the swap for one of the people and welded skids and gussets as well as sleeved. It was a new assembly with all production tags, etc.

Yeah, that's a great price if you can still get it. About a thousand less than other places you'll find that axle online. You'll see the locker itself selling for over $1300...

Just remember that it is the same basic housing as the d30 you are getting rid of, so if you were thinking about sleeves/gussets/truss/etc for the d30, you should also be considering them for the new d44.

I don't believe that you can buy a new Mopar axle with 3.73 as of yet. You would be stuck with 4.10 gearing.

That may be true. Both axles I know of were 4.10.

$1650is a steal. I have never seen a new one for close to that. I would buy one for a spare at that price.
