Default Swapping axle. Any tips??

This weekend I am swapping my stock front D30 axle out to the D30 axle I built up this winter. Any tips or tricks for the swap I should know? I have been hitting everything with PB blaster to get the nuts and bolts loosened up a bit.

It's plug & play. Nothing to really think about or worry about. Remove, install, do fluids & drive it. Cycle it through 4hi & lo off road to make sure it's good to go of course.

Default easy

Just swapped my dana 30 to prorock 44. Did this outside in the mud and snow and although it took a long time there was no real tips that I can think of. Get a hand if you can, stay organized, look on the forum if you get stuck and get a good set of axle stands and a nice floor jack. The rest is just time consuming, well for me anyway.

It looked easy, but I wasn't sure if something was going to pop up. I actually have luxury of a full garage and lift for the job for once!

You should have no problems at all. I did a 30-44 rubicon swap a couple of months ago with just a driveway and some normal hand tools with no issues. Just take it slow, make sure all the bolts are torqued appropriately and retorque after a hundred miles or so. If any weird issues pop up, let us know and you'll be in the clear in no time.

Good luck and enjoy the ride!

When you swapped to your PR44 did you also add lockers? RCV's ? Dynatrac ball joints? Reid knuckles ? Just curious how many things you changed....., BY THE WAY LUCK TO THE OP hope all goes smooth and easy.

Mine came fully assembled. But yes I added the ARB air locker, and Dynatrac ball joints. I myself installed the RCV's and reused steering knuckles.

As has been said already, should be a fairly easy swap - my one tip to add: When going for the first test drive after install, I would come to a complete stop before putting it in 4wd for the first time, then take off real slow nice and easy; that way, just in case you have an issue somewhere, you're a little less likely to grenade something.
