Default Swapping rims. What about the TPMS ?

Looking at a new set of rims. Wondering what others have been doing with the TPMS ?

Most people are tranfering the tpms to the new rim. Some are just living with the "dings and lights". You could also buy another set to install in your new rims.

Seems like those are your choices.

Well your first option is to take them out of your stock wheels and put them into your new wheels. A piece of cake once you have the tires off the wheels.

Your second option is to purchase a new set and put them in the new wheels, I bought mine from Costco, but I am still trying to figure out if I need the dealer to re-flash the computer or something because two tire dealers couldn't figure out why my light is still on.

Your third option is to ignore the little light and 5 dings every time you start up.

I am getting pretty good at ignoring the light and dings, but since I spent the money on new sensors I would like them to work.

I did and am happy with the save... It can be a bit expensive to buy a new set but I have seen them in the for sale section...

Also.......Its a federal law now that if your vehicle has them on it, the tire shop can not put another wheel on there that does not have them installed! I put a hole in the sidewall of my stockers and I told them just to take the spare off and put it on there, said they CANT do it unless it has a monitor system on it!!
So if you dont want to put them back on, just take your new tires/wheels up there for them to mount them and just put them on yourself.

Did your tire shop/delaer have to flash your jeep to the new sensors, or did the jeep just auto detect?

Your spare does have a TPMS sensor in it.
