Default Sway Bar Disconnects

I have a Skyjacker 2.5" Lift Kit on my X Unlimited that the dealer installed prior to putting it on the lot - HB Jeep "always" has one JK on the lot with a lift kit. I'm new to all of this, but I see that I can get a Sway Bar Disconnect Kit for $150 +/- $50. Should I stick with Skyjacker or is there something better for the same price?

After Calico and seeing the videos from Cleghorn, I can see the absolute need for the disconnect. I want to climb with the big boys, but I don't want to be the idiot that gets stuck/rolls over and causes the "traffic jam."

Thanks,
fat

go to home depot and get 2 clevis pins from their hardware section. Add a couple of hitch pins and your all set for about 10 bucks. I gorget the size but if you remove the lower bolt you can use it as a reference.

That does work but the end of the clevis pin will eventually wear out on you. When I had that on my Tj, I welded washers to the clevis pins and that worked fine. If you can afford it, buy the real thing.

I'm in the same position as you fatboy, but I do not have a lift. I'm going with the teraflex disco's.

I've had three off-road experiences so far: Calico - rocks, Gorman - dirt hills, and Trabuco - mud. Each time I've gone out, I've put myself in a position that having front disconnects would have made driving much easier. At Calico I accidentally got on what had to be real close to a Black Diamond and that was scary as hell! But even at Trabuco I did a little side path that nearly took Big Yeller out of commission.

At HB I got my Skyjacker 2.5" Lift Kit, BF Mud Terrains, and Pro Comp rims for free! It had been on the lot for over four months and a guy drove it home, but the wife told him NO. Anyway, it was the only one on the lot that I wanted and I got it for the price I wanted also.

Thanks for the input!

Get the JKS quicker discos from Northridge. Price is right, free shipping, and great service. They are built like tanks too! I am very happy with mine.

Yeah i am running washers also. sorry left that out. anyways, spend the money on something more advantages for the jeep like a power adder or something. I just can't see spending that kinda money on disco's when it only takes me 30 sec. to disco mine.
