Anyone have any insight on what I should be looking for? The end link is right up on the spring with no more than a 1/32 clearance. The spring shows some a little wear from the contact. Just want to ask the brethren what I should be looking for/at as the culprit. Sway bar bushings? Spring seating??
Seems to me that would be position and rotation of axle. See you have OME springs (from profile details). Do you have any form of caster correction on that jeep by means of aftermarket fixed control arms, adjustable control arms, or control arm brackets? My guess is the pinion is rotated up (resulting in low caster) and positioning the lower spring perch in a less than ideal manner creating a little bow in the spring to the front. With 1 picture it's a little hard to diagnose, but thinking logically, the sway bar is fixed to the frame so the issue is on the axle side in how it is positioned.
resharp001 thanks for the input. Passenger side is good, drivers side upon a closer examination, it appears the spring is indeed bowed forward. I get the negative caster though but I would think if this were the case that both sides would be somewhat similar in bow. Any idea what the OE caster is set at?
Caster is 4.2 degrees from factory which puts the pinion angled up 1.8 degrees. Guessing you are not the original owner of the jeep. Did you install the springs or were they on it already? Does the spring look seated in the lower perch properly and it looks like it's correct in the upper perch with the isolator? Wish it was a quick 5 minute task to swap which side the springs were on to see if it was the same reaction with the other front spring in that location, but it never is as quick/simple as it should be unless you have access to a lift.
