Default Sway Bar Link Flipped

Did a quick search and didn't find much on this.

07 Rubi Unlimited, with 4" RC lift with the electric sway bar disconnected. Running the stock rear links in the front.

My first wheeling trip with my 4" lift and somehow the bar got flipped to the down position on the drivers side. So the link got bent to a 90 after that. Not sure what to think, maybe the link was to short and allowed it to flip??? Has this happened to anyone else?

What is the correct length? Is it determined by how much load is on the bar when sitting on level ground?

You need to have links to keep the bar as parallel to the ground as you can. Just about every lift recommends leveling the bar out with the rubicon setup that you never disconnect the ends on. I run my stock rears in the front but only have a 2.5" lift. Not sure how it'd work on your 4".

You were suppose to put the rear links into the front. It rides better once you get the swaybar parallel with the ground. I ran the wrong links for about a year, before I added longer sway bar links that disconnect. I never really flex so they didn't flip. I don't think it was in the lift instructions for rough country for a long time. It was just assumed you knew to do this. It took me a long time to figure this out.

I stated in my 1st post "Running the stock rear links in the front."

You have another 1.5" of lift than I do, doing the same thing with the link. However my bar is level, which I'd imagine you make yours too short by a fair amount.

Thanks for the info guys! Kind of what I figured. I called Rough Country and explained my issue. Figured it might help someone else in the future. They cut me a deal on some of their discos, so hopefully I'm all good now.
