Default Switching from auto to manual?

So I'm interested in switching my 08 jk 2dr from auto to manual. It is not my daily driver so it's more of a toy to me now. I really want the "real" jeep feel. I'm wondering how much it will cost, how hard it is, tips and tricks to do it, ir just any advice to help me out
Thanks

Do a little google searching. There are at least a couple threads on it. There is also a shop in MD that did one. Most would say you are better off selling the Jeep and buying one with a manual trans.

As I recall, the people that did it had lingering issues. Nothing that couldn't be worked out, but it took time.

I did this with a YJ was swapping parts between two wrecked YJs to make one functional backyard jeep. This was one of the biggest problems with my overall swap. +1 for the sell it and buy a manual vote

Default Auto to Manual swap

I did this swap to one of my earlier cars and it worked well for me. Having said that, in today's world everything is tied so closely to the computer, especially the JK, that I would not attempt to do the swap now. The mechanical parts, of course, would pose no problem with a proper donor, but the electrical would definitely be above my "pay grade".

I would vote for the vehicle trade.
