Default Synthetic rope question

I won 200 feet of synthetic utility rope and it has no label on it. Is there a way to know the strength of it? I have a M8000 Warn winch I would like to put it on. Thanks if anyone can help.

Is there a brand on it and how thick is the rope?

Just my 2 cents but that does not appear to be a winch rope. The label leads me to believe that the rope is a general use rope, not a rated winch rope. Any good winch rope comes with a tensil strength label that list the working strength of that rope. I would not use it. Just me.

Hmm. I'm not sure if that rope is meant for a winch. Most of the heavy duty synthetic ropes I've seen have a diameter of 3/8" or 7/16", are offered in lengths up to 125', and usually cost hundreds of dollars. So 200' of 1/2" synthetic winch line, if it even exists, would probably cost well over $750 and be branded and packaged accordingly. I doubt it would be marketed for camping, boating, hunting, and fishing like it is in that picture.

This all makes since. Maybe just better to keep what I got and use it for something else. Think I was just excited to find something that wasn't bright blue. Really wanted some grey or black to put on. Thanks for the help.

This thread was fun for the spelling, if nothing else!
