Theres a lot of expert opinions that have no experience with synthetic line. How can u say which is better if u don't test both.

The only down fall to the synthetic would be allowing it to rub on rocks like the above post. I think if it's rubbing on rocks though you've got a bigger problem than you think

Agree with the above poster it gets stiff but doesn't loose significant strength. I work in the same industry and we see 100,000+ bbls barges tied to the dock with 6 or 8 lines the diameter of garden hoses. So our winch lines should be fine
