Default T-Case quesiton...

I'm working on a skid to cover my relocated exhaust & evap and i'm welding it to the existing t-case skid. Now i'd like to replace the sheet metal on the t-case skid with a flat 3/16 plate and just keep the bar. So the question is how much does the t-case move? There's about 1.5" between the skid and t-case. A strait peice of plate will cut that down to about 0.5" or 0.75" and i want to make sure it won't be hitting. Hopefully somone understands my rambling, lol...thanks!
