Default t-max winch

Hey guys, I am in the search for a winch. A guy in my apartment complex has a t-max winch. He said they aren't really known and made by westin. He says he's used it a lot and it's worked fine. Wanting to know if anyone else has used it. I figure worst case scenario I buy it for $350 and I buy another steel winch and swap the synthetic over and have a spare cable.

Should I pull the trigger? Otherwise I was going to get the rugged ridge 8500 or engo 9000

Here is the amazon link: T-Max 47-1485 EW8000S Off-Road Winch : Amazon.com : Automotive

Never heard of this one. For $409 I would go with the engo 9k with synthetic and call it a day...everyone speaks highly.

Personally I'm looking at warns to buy one and be done for a long time. I live in Colorado and the need of a winch is low, but of I need it, I want it to work 5 years from now.

From what i see,Westin builds their own winches aswell as other products. For the price that's pretty compitive with other brands in that range.
