Default Tail gate brace

I have stock tail gate and the thing always swings shut is there a simple means of bracing the thing with like a screen door opener or something? How hard is to convert the tail gate to a flip down like on a pick up . I cant seem to find any write ups on the subject. Also what is the easiest way to get #4 wire into the cab for an inverter I see the way along the frame is there a simple way through the dash? On the passenger side I want to use as short of cables as possible for the run.

I tried to piece one together and after looking at Jeepswag's, I went with his. I even had my 37 inch spare mounted on the tailgate for a while and it worked out great. The difference with Brett's design is the reinforcement bar. I would recommend it to any JK owner. . .

For a free mod I found a pic here that has someone using a small ball wedged between the gate and the tub ....

I used to use a stick, and then a rubber mallet, now I have one of those sliding aluminum tailgate stops.
