My tailgate made a major clunk over bumps with 295/70/17's, (33.4") the weak stock hinge on the gate has a lot of up and down play. If you go push up and down around on your spare, you'll feel how much it moves up and down. May want to look into a carrier osf some sort, costly but worth it. That's the only clunk I could think of with your gate assumng everything is nice and tight lug nuts etc.

Edit: once I installed TF's carrier, no more clunks or rattles what so ever from the tail gate/spare

Check to make sure your jack is tightened down.

I have this clunk and its from the bigger than stock tires. U can check it by opening the tail gate, grabbing a hold of the gate and lifting up. If u notice any up/down movement the hinges are done and need replacement. BUT apparently some ppl have adjusted them to some success but in all reality just prolonging the inevitable of replacement. HTH
