Default Tekonsha P3 trouble

I installed a Tekonsha P3 about a year ago and it worked fine but about 2 months ago started having problems. While driving and putting on the brakes it will jump up to the max braking causing the trailer the slam on the brakes then next time I brake goes back to normal. When I turn my lights on the controller will perodically flash "no trailer connected". Has any one else run into this issue? I checked all the wiring and everything looks good. Nothing has changed on my JK since I installed. Any help would be great thanks.

Sorry, you're one of the few to have a brake controller on a JK. Maybe someone with one will chime in though.

Are you using the Jeep 7 pin harness? I am and have never had a problem. Just wondering if there may be a routing problem around the hot exhaust areas.

No I didn't have a stock hook up so I had to run all new wires. Good thought I will check around the exhaust and see if anything turns up.
