Tera flex ball joint preload
I’m new to this forum and am in need of some advice. Earlier this year I ha TeraFlex ball joints installed. All was good. Two weeks ago I installed a synergy track bar relocation bracket and a Rough Country high steer drag link. Now I have a severe case of death wobble. The alignment was just checked. ALL of rhe steering components have less than 5000 miles on them. But the ball joint have some movement in them. I’m trying to adjust the preload on these thing with the flimsy wrench provided. Has anyone found a better tool for this fob? Or any tips on how to get it done? Thanks in advance for all your help.
That tool is the only thing there is to adjust it. It’s a bad design. I recently swapped out my TF ball joints for some better smart parts joints.
However, the best way I found to adjust it (forget about the torque setting they give) is to raise one front tire off the ground. Use a large pry bar or shovel and put it under the tire. Lift up and see if there’s play in the lower ball joint. If so, tighten it a little. Be sure to lift the tire when tightening the joint. Check for play again. Do this a couple times until the play is less than 1mm. Be sure to grease the joint after.

Hmmmm…. I have no idea why I typed that. I’ve been told I’m losing my mind. Here’s proof. I used to play paintball in my teens and 20’s. There was a company called smart parts that made some pretty good paintball guns. Maybe I was thinking of them?
so what did you end up putting in? Rare Parts?
