Default Tera quick disco quandry

So I decide to make my first upgrade on a Teraflex Quick Disco on my 08. While reading the Northridge 4x4 website, I see it handles 0-3" lift. Cool, since I haven't lifted yet.

Box is delivered. So I lay everything out on the street and I get under the JK (2dr X, btw). After getting half way through the install, I realize I have two problems:

1. The two bolts from the kit are missing. I thought about using the old bolts from the original bottom linkage, but they are too long. If used on the top, they would hit the tire at full turn. If I reversed them, they would hit internal stuff. I only realized this due to all the conversations I have heard about rubbing. Another plus for reading here.

2. Since I have no lift, the sway bar will be significantly angled when in use. I just checked the mfgr website and it says kit is for 2-3" lift.

#1 is a rant basically, but #2 is a possible real problem. I haven't come up with a good reason why its bad other than the angle between the disco and the sway bar is nwhere near 90 degrees.

Anyone got .02 for my quandry with #2...

Well, I can say that I used the teraflex 0-3" disco's before I had a lift and I had no issue what so ever. Even now I only have a 1 3/4" coil spacer in front, so it's not much lift.
I think the 2-3" spec on the site is a misprint, but it wouldn't hurt to go to this page, https://www.jk-forum.com/forums/members/teraflex-3165/ and send a PM directly to teraflex to ask your question.

I reused some of the old hardware even though I had the new hardware, too--this really made the job easier. However, you're right that I did eventually go back and cut those bolts shorter. You may find my write-up helpful (it explains why it's easier to reuse the old hardware, and what to watch out for if you do):

Teraflex Quick Disconnect Install

BTW: I ran it for a couple months with no lift. No issues, though the sway bar was cocked at an odd angle on the street. After I installed the RC 2.5" lift, the sway bar sits perfectly level.

THe write up definitely helped... and I went back and cut the bolts to match the length of the old upper bolt...

they are installed, but seem very close to the side of the shock tower.... less than a finger's width in between... probably 1/4". makes me a little nervous with such little play... but I will give it a try. As long as the sway bar doesn't move laterally, I hope to be fine.

Thanks for the pointers.
