Default TeraFlex 2.5" Lift Kit

I want to put a lift on my 2012 JKU. Stock it does everything I want it to do, so I am basically doing it for looks. I am planning on running Goodyear Duratrac’s (315/70r17). I am thinking about the Teraflex 2.5” spring lift since I’ve read it gives you 3-3.1 inches of lift in the front. My question is it better to get the kit with the Teraflex shocks, or the one with the shock adaptors? Or should I consider another route? If you recommend another route, please tell me why it would be better!

I would get the shocks. The extensions are just a cheap way out and I just don't trust it. Just my opinion.

Or you can order the lift without shocks and get the Bilstein 5100s .

Default TF Lift

I put the Teraflex 2.5 inch coil lift on my jeep a few months ago. I went with bilstein 5100 shocks and they are so nice!! If your options are
teraflex shocks versus shock adapters, I would always go with the longer shocks. I have a friend who has the adapters with the same lift and his
jeep tends to flex side to side when driving down the highway. I wonder if it's b/c of the quality of the oem shocks. We both have the adjustable
front track bar and front lower flex arms. I'm sure somebody else with more technical knowledge could shed some light on this.

Many are fine with the shock extensions, its about how much total travel you want. I did the shock extensions and everything rides great. Later I will add Bilstein when I have the $$.

I run the the shock extensions as well and mine rides great. I will change shocks after I do a few other things first. One thing that has bugged me about this lift is my front end has settled down and now I have the rake back. I will be adding a leveling kit to correct this, just something to keep in your mind if you go this route.

I'm running the 2.5 coil lift. Bought it with extensions. They did fine until I bought shocks later. It's all a money game. If you are wanting all the flex that lift has to offer, you will want longer shocks in the end. Spend the extra now or spend it later, you will eventually. Also if you do extensions now, you have time to decide on what flavor shocks to add later.

I had extensions when I first lift my jeep with a 2.5" Teraflex BB. Since then I have added 3" coils to level out my jeep becuase of front end rake and I have upgraded to Terraflex 9550 shocks all the way around. Was fine when I rode with the extensions and is obviously better now but I did everything as I was able to upgrade. The good news is that you can always sell your extensions becuase others will be needing them as they build up thier banks as well. There is always somebody who will be happy to recycle a jeep part and this is a great community to do it in.

If you're doing it just for looks. Just go with the extensions. You'll be fine with those. If you decided you want that extra performance later, get the Bilstein 5100's. I have this lift with the Bilsteins and I'm very happy with them.
