Default Teraflex 2.5" vs 3" with coils and shocks

Is lift height the main difference between these two lift kits? Why would someone choose one over the other?

TF 2.5 = 3"-front 2.75"-rear
TF 3" = 4.25"-front 3.75"-rear

So height appears to be the only difference. Only gaining an inch or so front and rear with the 3" kit, what considerations should one have when deciding between these two kits?

what considerations? All the other mods that you may have to do with a 3" that are really optional on a 2.5" lift. 3" lifts seem to the be threshold of where you need to start considering driveshafts, control arms, adjustable track bars etc ... not to mention the ability to run larger tires 35"-37"+ which then gets you into considering re-gearing ... the fun never ends

Q: What are all the components that I will need with a 3" lift?
Q: What are all the components that I will need with a 4" lift?

As you go higher, you'll want to add more components. The main consideration between those heights would be the need for driveshafts, which would also necessitate the need for adjustable arms. But personal opinion on what handling characteristics you're willing to live with comes into it, too. And so does luck. (some people have blown driveshafts on 2" lifts. Some have no problems with stock shafts at 4")

Hold on for a sec. That depends if he has a 2dr or a Unlimited. The 3" on a 2dr is about a 5" kit. The 2.5" on a Unlimited is 3.1" front and 2.1' rear. Add about a .5"-.75" for a 2dr.
