Default teraflex 3" bumpstops

With the teraflex 3" kit, are the extended bumpstops required to protect the spring from over compression or are they just there to keep the tires out of the fender wells. Some springs can safely be fully compressed without bending or breaking, so I guess my primary question is are the Teraflex that way or will over compression cause failure?

Interesting question, you've got me curious about this. I hadn't read about any springs that were ok to fully compress, but if that's the case, I might have to think about removing some bumpstops when I go to flat fenders...

some are, most are not. I am sure they need the bumpstops to protect them... but if not I am taking them off and chopping my flenders.

Typically to stop the tire from chewing up your fenderwells.
