Default Teraflex Big Brake Kit

I finally got some time to do a few more projects on the Jeep. I install the Teraflex big brake kit and Crown brake lines on the JK today. The pedal is soft but what a difference in stopping it made. I think I am going to grab the master cylinder to firm up the pedal. Install went fairly smooth except for 1 broken anti-squeak clip. Quick run to Pepboys and was able to finish it up. I am going to try bleeding the brakes first before ordering the master cylinder. Anyone successful using the 2010 master cylinder? I was hoping to save some money not replacing it.

Bleed it good and see if it firms up. If it was good before, it should be good now.

from all the sources ive read. unless you get the biggher TF master cylinder you will always have the soft pedal. the bigger caliper and bigger surface areas of the pistons requires the master cylinder to move more fluid that the stock one dosent have the capacity to do like the TF one does.

the 2010 should be fine and is preferred - I almost bought this and did stop at TF shop to talk with them.
What order are you bleeding your brakes in? are you doing the fronts only or did you open the rears to bleed them as well?
if you tried to bleed all 4 brakes, start with the passenger side rear brake. If you just worked on your front brake lines, then you need to start at your passenger side front brake.
The idea is that you just need to start from the brake that is farthest from the master cylinder.
don't let your master get too low on fluid - keep it full between bleeds

Thanks for the advice. I did bleed all 4 wheel starting from the passenger rear. I'll bleed them again today and hopefully it will firm up. Northridge recommended the TF master cylinder even though I have a 2010.

For some reason TF says you don't need the MC if you have a 2010. Not sure why that is. I am assuming it has a bigger bore than the other years.

Has anyone had this kit long enough to need to replace the pads? I'm curious if a set of standard JK pads would fit or if I'd always be dependent on TF if I were to install this kit.

Also, has anyone heard of them offering a kit for the rears, too? Seems odd to only offer the fronts.
