Teraflex budget boost quesiton.....
i just installed the teraflex 2.5" hd budget boost with front coils and have a quesiton:
what kind of stress is created with the factory track bar?
the reason i ask is that, after a month, the front is still lifted 3". i have a lod front bumper and a warn 9.5ti winch. the front axle is a bit off centered (to the driver side), but the jeep drives great--no apparent issues. my concern is that many on the site say that you need a track bar at 3".
so i guess what i really want to know is if there is a possibility of damaging anything with the stock track bar on. i would hate to be out on the trail (or on the freeway) and have the track bar, or its mount, break on me. during the installation, it did take quite a bit of force to get the front track bar back on and i am concerned about the stresses placed on the area by using the stock track bar.
i bought the budget boost for a reason, i want to minimize the modifications needed, so if i can get away without the track bar safely, i would rather do that--especially since i have absolutely no driveability issues with the lift.
any feedback would be helpful. thanks

You should have no problem. I've been running the Tera 2.5" with the stock trackbar for months and over 20k miles with no issue. Yes, the axle is a bit off center, but it hasn't bothered me. I'm just now getting to replacing the trackbars, but that's only because I'm installing taller coils and longer shocks.
I just switched out the spacers in mine for the springs. Does yours sit noticably higher in front. Mines a 4 door, its proably 1/4-1/2 higher in front. I have the Teraflex bumpers front and back but no winch yet. I know that will drop it a bit.
I am just a newbie with a stock JK unlimited so forgive me if my question is off base. Why would you install a lift that causes your axle to be off center? Doesn't someone make a lift that allows for the axle to be centered? I am reading all these posts to try to learn more about lifts, the pros and cons etc.
All lifts will cause the axle to be off-center if the lift doesn't have an adjustable trackbar to bring it back to center. With a 2-3inch lift it is off center less than 1/2". I can't even tell on my jeep that it isn't centered.

Well stated. You'll be fine with the setup. Now JK'ers with kit that are more aggresive (going for the big flex) like to have a front adj. trackbar to center the axle. Some have had rubbing issues that show up when they are flexing the front alot. Go flex the front in a nice controlled situation. That way you can see what the benefits/limitations are going to be for you. Sorry for a slow response to this post, took a 1/2 yesterday.
i have the lod front bumper and a warn 9.5ti winch and after about 150 miles, the front sits a bit higher than the rear; i think it will drop further in the next few months as the springs settle. as for now it is not really noticeable unless you look for it.
silver rubicon - can you post some pics on level ground. I'm considering these front coils but don't want to be higher in the front
