Teraflex Discos, solution needed
I'm about to install the teraflex discos on my 2014 Sahara. I have 275/70R18's on the stock wheels, and after looking at how high the mounting bracket brings the sway bar when disconnected, I have concerns about ripping a sidewall. So, i'm going to go ahead with the discos, but minus the bracket. Spacers are not happening. I like my stock fenders and I actually go off road in mine. So I need to be able to stuff my tires. (If I had realized how high that bracket was, and finding out i'd have to hold it in place old school anyhow, i'd have gotten the JKS quicker disconnects. But, hind sight is 20/20 so they say...)
With that said, i'd like a more permanent solution for tucking the sway bar and sway bar link out of the way, vs. the normal bungee cord or zip tie jive. I've been dancing around hard mounting some industrial strength velcro and just leave it under there. I've read other posts and quite frankly there are so many, it's getting tedious and aggravating trying to read through them all looking for a specific solution. Most of the posts just note zip ties, well duh. Any input is greatly appreciated.

true... I just hoped to avoid spacers. I know the local tire shops won't touch my wheels if they have spacers on them. And i'm too old, fat, and lazy to rotate them myself, especially since I rotate them every 3K. I'm also not a fan of spacers, and they add another PM item to the already long list, and add another failure point. If it came down to spacers, i'd get new wheels.

OK, so the disconnects are now installed, and i'm using them at the moment with out the stowing bracket.
Out with the old:

In with the new:

So I played around with it last night in a ditch.
I noticed a slight rub at full lock and flexing. (this photo wasn't taken at the point I noticed the rub, just thought that those of you with A.D.D. like myself would appreciate the pictures.

So my train of thought is to put a couple 3/8 washers behind the steering stop, and that MIGHT solve the issue all together, and may even allow me to use the stowing bracket. Here's the thing, the sway bar disconnect and sway bar itself do not have any sharp edges and such that could puncture a sidewall, at least it doesn't look that way. Look at the above picture for reference. It seems with the newer model of this product they identified the issue and smoothed out the lines. And note that when it rubbed last night, the sway bar and connect was bungeed as seen in the picture in the correct position, parallel. What are your thoughts ladies and gents?

For lack of response, I called Teraflex in hopes of getting some sort of educated answer. Basically with out more back spacing, the only thing I can do is add washers to the steering stops, DO NOT mount the stowing bracket up top, and just bungee the sway bar and discos off old school. I figured as much...
I'll end up with spacers one day I guess.
really hoped to avoid that.

really hoped to avoid that.Rather than washers, I think you can adjust your steering stops.

I haven't looked yet, but maybe i'll have time today. I've read a few threads online about putting washers behind them. I do know in other year models the nut and bolt are tack welded together, requiring washers. Maybe the 2014 is different. Thanks for the input man.
