Default Teraflex HD Tire Carrier 3rd brake light question

Ok, got a question for someone with the Teraflex tire carrier or for the Teraflex rep himself. I really like the looks of this carrier and the reviews that it is getting. My question is, on the 3rd brake light mount would it be possible to cut out the center and install a rigid diffused led flushmount lamp? I know you would have to make it so you could disconnect it when you needed to use your spare tire. But it just looks like it would be a perfect spot for it. Just wondering what you guys think that already have it!

There is not enough room between the wheel and the bracket to do a flush mount light there is only an 1-2" between the bracket and the wheel.

If you won't be going bigger than 35's, I'm using Hyline's ext bracket with the OE spare mount and Hyline's center hub 3rd brake light, works real good! Just need to leave the hub cap/cover off to see the light, the light stays attached to the brckt. However you decide to mount a 3rd light, the TF carrier is so sweet!

I think his goal is a better back up light in addition to the 3rd brake light.

ID:	371813oh, gottcha. I love vleds reverse bulbs. I have the 6k 9W bulbs, $49.99, ultra bright! Pricey bulbs, but almost too bright. Just a plug n play option is all.

I've been looking for something like this. Where did you get them? Is it really as simple as removing the old bulbs and putting these in?

Yes these are awesome, v-leds.com. The new bulb is a single large led with an aluminum cooling casing. I've changed most of my bulbs to V LED after discovering these reverse bulbs. At night, drivers behind you do not like these lights, you literally cannot stare at the bulbs, too too bright. There are different outputs to choose from
