Default Teraflex Lift

A friend of mine with a TJ told me that Teraflex was crap and to avoid it. I havent been in this game for a long time and in my time Rancho was the big dog for lifts and shocks and M\T were the tires to have.

I am looking to put an appropriate lift on my 4 dr Sahara leaving the stocks wheels and tires. Does a 2.5 " lift look ok with the stock tire size? Would I be able to put 35s on later?

Opinions come one come call!

I ran the Tera 2.5" for several months with the stock Rubi wheels/tires and loved it. Now, I'm running the Tera 2.5" with 35's and love it even more! I have nothing bad to say about this lift. It rides well and has held up to everything I've thrown at it.

i do not think your friend knows what he is talking about. i have used all teraflex products on two of my jeeps and have had no problems at all. they only do lifts for jeeps so i think their products are much better then superlift, rancho, etc. as for 2.5 inch and 35's? yeah they should fit with a little rubbing at full stuff. i would recommend a wheel with 4.5inch backspacing though. a lot of companies make a 2.5 inch bb so teraflex isnt your only option. old man emu (OME) makes at kit that has a nice write-up on here. good luck!

Wow that looks really good on both sets of tires. I was just poking around some and found a pic of a 4dr with a 4" lift running 32" tires. That didnt look bad either.

Would I look like a total tool with a 3.5" lift with stock wheels and tires. I don't have the coin to sink into tires and all the other consequences that come with changing that as well.

I think 2.5" is about as high as I would go before the stock meats start looking a little odd, but that's just my opinion. A complete 3.5" lift (with all necessary mods to accommodate that height) would probably cost about the same as a BB and new wheels/tires, I think....

On the site they are saying that this is a 4" with 32" M\T. Doesnt look bad maybe it is the tire design that is making it look better.

I have the Teraflex 3" lift on my 08 Rubicon Unlimited.

It is just plain awesome! What made me choose them is all the comments I read on here on how great their customer service is.

I can say that I did have one small issue with the swaybar links bending on me due to a over flex. I have the electronic disconnects and this was caused by the links being a bit to short and they "reversed" themselves and flipped the other direction and bent over wrapped around my steering linkage. When I returned from Moab and gave them a call they sent me out (2-day shipping no cost to me) a set of replacements and longer ones at that! There is no way that will happen again with the new ones!

Their second to none customer service is what is going to keep Teraflex around for a long time!

I couldn't be happier with my purchase!

So other than the obvious price and I assume a more solid lift and better articulation. Why would I want a Coil Spring Lift Kit over a BB?

I am totally confused by all the options. By the way I am looking on Quadratec.com and they have a $200 BB option up to $451 Coil Spring for 2.5" Teraflex.

Then they also have a Skyjacker 3.5 Coil Spring for around the same price.

Sorry I have had this $300 Amex Gift card burning a hole in my pocket since xmas and I can't decide what to buy with it. I have no problem kicking in another $200 for a better lift.

Hmmm.... hard to tell from that pic, but I agree that it doesn't look that bad. But, regardless of the tire size, the wheels in that pic definitely have less backspacing than the stock wheels, which push the tires further out. If you did the same thing with the stock wheels, you'd probably want to add wheel spacers to push the tires out more with that kind of height...
