Teraflex lift/ scared
I've been reading and trying to educate myself of lifts. Originally was thinking about RE 2". I will be installing a lift with little experience and the kit and installation looked unintimidating. However, after reading the comments on this site, I thought I might get the Teraflex 2.5. However, the more I read, the more concerned I get. I see people talking of axles shifting and adjustable track bars, etc. So then I thought about the RE again, then got worried about brake line extenders, etc. I am confused. I want a complete kit and don't want to get myself into an installation that is over my head. Can someone put my fears to rest and suggest all of the parts I need to do my lift 100% correct?
Thanks for any suggestions

I have been running the Tera 2.5 for several months now with absolutely no issues whatsoever. Haven't had to add any mods beyond what came in the kit-- it's complete (including brake line extensions), easy to install using the write-up on Project-JK.com and it runs great. I recommend it.
any lift without adj trackbars will result in slight shifting of the axles one way or the other. a 2" lift isnt going to tHrow anything off substanitally anyway.
to install the teraflex lift you will need general tools(socket wrench, drill etc.) you will also need a pair of jsckstands and a jack (floor jack if you have it).

Don't worry yourself over the small things too much. Because that's what they really are. Small things.
I installed the Teraflex last month. The axles did shift. The back more than the front. But that can be fixed pretty easily. Personally I haven't yet because it isn't that big of a deal. It can be fixed with a Skyjacker trackbar relocation bracket for $30-40. Or if you like having the option to adjust it to absolute perfection you can always buy an adjustable trackbar.
You might find individuals on here complaining about the subtle imperfections, but I guarantee if you ask them if they like their lift they'll respond with a "Hell yeah!".

I'm in the same boat, never installed a lift and have only had one other lifted Jeep. But I just ordered the Teraflex 2.5" and I'm going for it. Probably even do it all by myself over a weekend. It is a little scarey knowing I'm going to be messing with a $30k Jeep as my first lift.
I'm worried about axles shifting and all that as well but I'm not exactly sure what that means when it comes to ride and safety. I know I don't want to get into cutting or welding, so when I hear about relocating brackets, that worries me.
Seems a few of us may be going through the lift at the same time and I'm going to follow the write-up along with teraflex instructions and hopefully be ok. It seems that things can't go horribly wrong... if they do, I'll just revert back to stock. At least there is no cutting or welding involved so you can always go back to stock. Right?

just make sure the vehicle is SECURE!! you will be underneather a good bit and have torque several bolts (which makes the vehicle shake or rock a bit)... the lift is super easy to install... follow the online write up and you will be fine. Take your time and dont rush. I did it myself with minimal issues. Just read, re-read, and read again the instructions online. Other than that... its goes smoothly.
Torque wrench/breaker bar is very very handy!
