I'm not talking about a torch. Heat gun or hot hair dryer will soften it up a bit so you can wiggle it loose. WD like mentioned above won't help it will just make it more slick to grab.

Twist and pull, maybe slide a flat screwdriver in to pry it out.

I used a long screw driver or pry bar to get some leverage. Bend it as far as you can to one side and it will pop out.

When I had to do mine I put a pipe wrench on it. Lots of leverage even with a small one, it came out real easy.
