Default Tereflex 2 1/2" lift problem free?

I am ready to order a Tereflex 2 1/2" lift with coils and shocks. I have a 2009 X with auto trans. I'm not going to off road much just a few trails and some beach driving. I just want to improve the height and put some 33's or 35's on it.
I want to put on the lift first, then get some tires and wheels as soon as I can afford it.
I have read about problems people are having with the driveshaft boot rubbing on the trans pan and ripping. Will I be able to just put the lift on and enjoy or will I need to constantly check on things that might go wrong? sorry for the stupid question, I am probably over thinking this whole thing. Thanks

IMHO, nothing is gonna be 100% trouble free. Are you relatively safe with the Tera coil lift? I would say yes but it doesn't hurt to get under there every now and again (esp after hitting a trail) and making sure everything is still good. Heck, even on a stock rig it makes sense to ensure everything is still good...trust me there's folks that can/do destroy stock equipment.

I have the TF 2.5 coil with the shocks and I have no complaints. I do keep an eye on it and I did have one swaybar link bolt come loose, but I'm sure that was because it wasn't tightened enough to begin with. You'll never get 100% guarantee when you do any mod, but I think it's a good quality lift that doesn't have a lot of the problems I've seen with others

I've had no issues what so ever with mine. But I do have the 6spd.

if you aren't going to wheel it you'll probably be fine. If you are going to really wheel it notch the skid or get and aftermaked shaft that is smaller/stronger. On a seperat note make sure you drop the skid before the install

what do you mean by dropping it before the install . ./ / to notch it??

I've already done my install, and reckon I need to notch the skid, didn't know about this . .. .i knew about the driveshaft, but didn't know there was something I could do about it lol, I was gonna wait till it died, then get a double c . . . .

Remove the trans skid before you lift it. It will make getting the front springs in a lot easier (without a spring compressor).

it also prevents damage to the D shaft when you drop the front end...

I've had mine for about 6 months now. My only complaint is the boot clamp on my front driveshaft hits the transmission oil pan sometimes on full flex. I just carry zip ties with me and stick one on every time it happens. I'm planning on upgrading to T. Woods shafts and Teraflex lower control arms soon!
