Default Tereflex lift questions

I am in the market for a 3-4" lift for my 2007 Unlimited Rubicon. This is my daily driver and I want very good road manners.

I am thinking a set of AEV wheels with 35" tires will keep the road mannors in check. I really like the idea of 37's due to breakover angles with the unlimited but am scared to have no power left with the anemic 3.8L and destroy the great ride (My TJ rides like crap compared to the JK and its on 4.5" RE with 35's and 4.88's).

I think I have narrowed my lift down to the Tereflex kit and have heard nothing but good things about it. However, I am confused as to what to buy!! I have been to the tereflex website and left it very confused as to what lift to get (there are TONS of choices there!!). I was only able to find a 3" kit with no control arms (WFT??? how do you adjust pinion angles) or a LCG kit that had control arms but cost a fortune...

Sooo...my question is what kit do I get from tereflex that will yeild a great ride and good offroad flex?

I am still on the fence with 35's or 37's so I could be talked into 4" system instead of 3" system if I can decide if the ride will be good...

Thank you for your help..

P.S. Tereflex fix your website to show the "kits" ranging from economy to premium (kind of like the full traction site)...

Also you can call Joe, our forum TeraFlex rep, he is always more than willing to help.

Northridge 4x4 also has the TF kits long and short arms. Also the 2.5" coil will give you a little over 3in and works well with 35's. The 3in kits tend to give most people 4in.

I just installed a Teraflex 3" LA. Wow... the road ride is off the hook good. Twice better than stock. The Jeep corners amazingly flat at speed. I believe TF has it dialed in with their LA. I spent the extra bucks for the kit and the install, but couldnt be happier.

X2 on Teraflex. I recently installed my Teraflex 2.5" coil life and got 3.25" in the front and 2.75" in the rear from stock. I HAD a 2" spacer lift on it that I replaced and it gave a significant difference.

I have the teraflex kit. I got the one from northridge4x4 with front lowers and rear uppers. I recently bought the front uppers and rear lowers as well. The kit is great, and offered in many different levels of completeness. Joe from teraflex is active on this site, and is an awesome guy. His screen name is Teraflex and I am sure he would be happy to help you with any questions you have. make sure you buy the kit from northridge, cause it is way cheaper than teraflex directly.

I see your point, but basically, TeraFlex has it set up so you can have whatever "kit" you get, (you mentioned the 3") and then add on as much as you can afford... So basically if all you could find was the basic 3" kit, you can add the complete flexarm set (like I did). The kits that come with the arms are simply the basic kit with the cost of the arms added in. Then from there you can add adjustable track bars, quick discos, high steer kit (if need be), and the list goes on and on. If budget really isn't an issue you can have a blast. Just keep adding it to the shopping cart.

And I agree if they had it set up in "stages" or different levels or whatever, it'd be great, too.

Good luck.

And not to throw you a curve ball, but, if you are looking for the best on road kit, I hear Old Man Emu is great. Not sure if it'll give you the 3-4" you're looking for, but a buddy of mine from back home put on the OME long travel. I haven't gotten to ride in it yet, but he couldn't be happier. And he says he fit 35s with no problem. Just a thought...

Have 3" Teraflex full flex with 35" tires. Very pleased. Also have other stuff added to go
along with lift. Would have gone with 4" lift, but wanted to park in garage.

they do sell it in stages. you can get it with or without shocks, and everything from no flex arms to full flex arms. You can even long arm it! If you wanted to you could get the cheapest 3" with no arms, and get a full flex arm or long arm upgrade kit later. I got the kit with 4 flex arms. That way I could adjust caster and pinion angle. I recently got the other 4 arms as I could afford it. I also added adjustable front and rear track arms.

The OME stuff is great too IMO. I got my Teraflex 3" with no shocks and am runnint the OME LT shocks with them.
