Default TF 2.5 to TF 3 or 4

Bottom line is I want to lift my jeep but I don't have the funds for drive shafts and ca's all at once it will take me 3-4 years to do it all. Question I have is what would it take to go from a 2.5 to 3. Or would you buy the 3 in kit with no ca's and no drive shaft and add them slowly or do the 2.5 and then do ca's and ds and then 3 in coils.

What size tires are you looking at getting? What kind of wheeling do you do?

Default tire size

thire size would be a great help.

if your only the weakend wheeler. the TF 2.5 would be perfect. dont need to add anything to the lift. now there a few different versions of the TF 2.5" lift. i would highly recomend the 2.5 coil lift with shock adapters if money is an issue. the next step would be the full TF 2.5" lift with shocks. it will run you about $650.00. this is the complete lift coils, shocks everything. and you can run a 35" tire with this kit. the TF 2.5" is a very popular kit. if money is a factor. i would get the 2.5 coil with shock adapters. i think it runs about mid 400.

sorry so long winded. hope this helps.

I want to run 35's and will only do mild wheeling. I can do the full tf 2.5 coil and shocks no problem. Just cant do a 2000-2500 dollar lift right now.

If you can afford it I would recommend a coil lift. TeraFlex makes several different varieties of their 2.5 coil lift and I know from experience that the OME 2" lift rides very nice, better than stock in my opinion. You will get closer to 3" with the OME. You can always give David @ Northridge4x4 a call, he is always willing to discuss options that work with your needs and won't blow smoke up your ass to sell you more than you need.

Go 2.5 coil lift, but also throw a 3/4 or 1" spacer on top of the front. 35's won't rub and it will be level.

I had the same plan. I wanted a lift and tires, but I didn't have the funds to go big right off the bat. I bought a TF 2.5BB and 35's right when I bought my Jeep. I drove it like that for almost two years while I saved up for a TF 4" with the control arms. I am saving right now for the driveshafts and bigger tires. But it still looks good and wheels great on the trails around here. I don't do rocks, so I didn't have any worries about the 35's rubbing or the dire need for driveshafts and other stuff like axles. I'll get to that when the funds allow.

Here it is before the 2.5BB

After the BB with stock tires

2.5BB with 35's

TF 4" with 35's
