Are these really needed for 4'' lift?
In my opinion, 4 inches of lift for a 35 tire (more or less) is a little excessive. But if thats what you want to do, go for it. I would just say if you are going to do it then do it right the first time. Just as a thought, you could do a roughly 4 inch lift a little cheaper if you put a body lift on. A 1 inch body lift plus a 2.5 inch suspension lift will net you roughly the lift you want and require less investment.
Well the kit I'm looking at is only 682 incliding shipping adjustable track bar, shocks and coil springs to mention a few of the things I could think of off the top of my head. I'm still not sure what I want to do but I do enjoy the input/real world data from others.
4 door or 2 door, this will make a differences.4 door you don't need control arms for the rear, unless you have a 2 door in which a rear drive shaft is needed.Front control arm might be needed if you have problems with your caster.Adjustable tracbars front/rear yes.Drop pitman or drag link flip your choice.Front drive shaft, yes if disconnect your stock will make contact with skid.My
would be go with a BB or a 2.5 lift since your not doing much off road, with these types of lifts you won't need much more than what's in the kit

It would be for a 4 door. I dunno what route I'm going to go. I do like the idea of extra clearence for bigger tires down the road though. Guess I'll research the extra parts needed that are not in the kit and see if I wanna spend the extra for it and such.
I run a 4" teraflex lift on 35's. I have done alot of the harder trails here in California , and I would say. Yes!!! you need all the items listed plus. I tried to get away without changing the driveshafts and first trip out I ripped the front boot and opened the trans pan. Front end steering issues also come with 4"lifts. If you don't use upper and lower control arms. Trackbars are a must for centering the axles and alignment. I have also upgraded to currie correct steer kit and JKS sector shaft brace. This eliminated the wander often found with 4" lifts.
I have done tremendous research on this. I am doing a expedition rig, that will see lite to moderate tails eventually. I bought a zone 4" kit, aev drop brackets, nitro shocks. Got it all out the door for 600 shipped. the consensus is, do you need all the items yes..... Do you need them all once ie drive shafts on a jku not unless you plan on discoing and full out flexing. I will take the next 4 months, wheel lightly, learn my rig, then goto drive shafts and discos ect...
Honestly I think if your dead set on doing a 4 inch lift that sooner or later you are going to pay to do it right. The only questions are how many headaches are you going to endure before getting there and how much money are you going to spend on issues before you get there. Honestly once you start getting into the 3.5 or 4 inch lift range you kinda have to pay to play. If you don't have the cash to go big right now then wait a little and save up or go a little smaller and enjoy your Jeep that way. I mean a 2.5 inch lift and some 35's will take you through a lot of trails. There is plenty of people on this forum that run that set up. Plus, if you get the right kit you could always build off it later when you needs and/or wallet allow.
