A buddy of mine has a 3 inch long arm. He got the long arms in anticipation of coil overs... We both have about the same articulation. The JK control arms are much longer than the older TJ. I don't think you really need to go downt his path unless you plan on going over 4 inches.
As what's been stated before the ctrl arms on the jk are fairly long. Advantages were alot greater on replacing the Tj's really short arms. Better on road ride and better articulation. WOL has even stated that LA's aren't really necessary on the JK. Other than a bit better on -road ride, the amount of extra flex off-road seems to be negligible. Unless you have coilovers, then there would be a greater advantage to them.
I've got the RK 3.5 Long arm on my 2D. Great flex, great on road ride. Even great over the whoops.
The upper and lower arms need to be longer to gain much better flex. Check your lift to see what the uppers look like. They may be a limiting factor for your flex. The RK is also 3 link front and rear, which helps too. Coilovers are on the list, but I really don't need them yet.

Theres a difference in ride quality, I dont care what anyone says.
I'm running a 3" Fulltraction long arm with the same coils and shocks as I had with my 3" Fulltraction short arm.
I also have a two door, so it probley makes that much more of a difference than the guys that have 4 doors.

Thanks! That's the cliff note version.
