Default Third row

So we are having a third child in February. Three boys no less! My '10 JK is my daily driver and I had a crazy thought due to needing room for three car seats. Will have boys ages 5, 2 and newborn rolling with me.

1. Can I put a third row seat into the cargo area?
2. Could I potentially swap the bench to the back and put two bucket seats in the rear?
3. Or just one new bucket to the cargo?

Lots of ideas tumbling around my head and I'd love some input. Pictures and actual experience with any of this gets bonus points!

Thanks awesome JK community!

Yes.... Mastercraft makes some options to do all of the options your describing.

I've been thinking about the 4 captains chairs myself...

How about a third row jumper seat? Anyone seen that on the market?

Not sure if that's completely safe to put a child in a third row seat. Not much a rear crumple zone if you get rear ended. I'm a body shop manager so these things cross my mind.

i have a 2013 unlimited and three kids in car seats. fits just fine. unless the 2010 unlimited's rear is way different than a 2013, i don't see why you'd have any problems. put the rearward facing infant carrier in the middle and the two booster seats on either side for the 2 and 5 year olds.

for the booster seats, i'd get some seatbelt extenders. leave the extender inserted into the seat cushion side of the belt so it is sticking out far enough to snap in the buckle without having to dig between the carseats looking for the belt.

Teraflex makes a bracket to run a (2dr rear) jk seat in the cargo area. Really stout bracket that even lets u flip the seat up and Down as it was designed.

Little seats also custom builds seats for the jeep wrangler Jeep Wrangler Unlimited 07+

I bought one off Craigslist and it was of good quality. Only problem is the seller lied to me and I found out later it was for a ford explorer.

Google jk 3rd row seats and you will find everything you need. I have the teraflex brackets, like having the flexibility, but I don't have it in all the time (use it when family comes to town). My seat faces backwards so that I have roll bar coverage, but will probably add a lengthened roll cage at some point.

I bet you can find a JK 2 door owner like me who's first mod was to take out rear seat and put it in basement...
