For those with Bushwacker Flat flares
Are you happy with the quality of the Bushwacker flat flares? They look really good with the inner fenders intact and I have been debating on buying a set. Are they held securely to the body or do the flares rely heavily on the two sided tape to retain them? Thanks
I really like my BW Flat Flares. Some people claim they are a PITA to install. I don't think they are that bad; if you just take your time and don't get frustrated the install process will go pretty smooth.
Some tips I learned from installing mine were to 1) remove the tire before you install that fender flare. it give you a lot more room to work with. 2) Get an awl or an extra set of hands to help you align everything properly. 3) Measure twice cut once on the fender liners, plus cut off a little bit less than you think you should.
As far as the install process.....you have inner flares to bolt up to the body. Then the actual flare screws and double sided tapes up to the inner flare. Kinda hard to explain. These instructions will help.

Installed these myself a little while ago and very happy with them. I didn't remove the wheels just followed the instructions provided and the ones posted here. One suggestion I can make:
While holding the inner shield up to the body, have a buddy draw the cut line nice and flush to the metal. If you take your time and cut the shields right the install is easy! If you rush it and cut it wrong you'll be hating life.

Personally, I installed the front on my 2011 and never got around to the rear and am very thankful I didn't. I think the nuts and bolts they include with the kit are nothing but crap so I recommend going to Lowe's or somewhere and buying quality replacements. The ones they include seize up while you are trying to tighten them down and then if you need to back one off you might as well forget if because odds are the bolt will break before it backs off. I noticed spraying some WD40 helped with this a little.
Cutting the liner to where it is exactly right is a pita and as others have said you will be hating life if you get it wrong. You are looking at $80.00 for a new inner fender liner if you cut too much so just keep that in the back of your head when you are doing the install. Also, if you read around some on here you will see people that have hit tress, etc with them and they will not give or snap off like the factory and usually cause some minor fender damage or even worse. They are very hard and will not give.
I just bought a 2011 and these will not be going back on my Jeep but that is just my opinion. I think the factory flares are of much better quality and if I need I will trim them to make them flat. Good luck!
