Question Those of you with Beadlocks for DD...

Just wanted to know how many of you are running beadlocks on your daily driver.. and any issues you have encountered (or lack of them).

In California I havent heard of a specific "no / illegal" response, so now I'm focusing on maintenance, torque issues, leaking, etc etc.

thx!

I had a set on my TJ that started out as steel rings and I welded trail ready beads on. They required ALOT of maintenance and I would say weren't worth it!!! The I bought a set of new trail ready beadlocks when I get D60's and have to say they are amazing. So far no maintenance at all. In fact they hardly need balanced!!! AMAZING! They were pretty pricey though.

If maintenance is a concern you should not even look at a bead lock wheel. California may be a little different , but you need to stay up on the torque and remove and replace your bolts. They may seem maintenance free for the first year or so, but they require constant monitoring as a daily driver. If you have a good tire shop that will help you it takes some of the hassle out of it, but most tire shops will not touch them. I just keep my beed locks for wheeling now and have some black powder coat wheels to run daily, its pricey but worth it to me.

Waler Evans Beadlocks and 40" MTR's No issues.

I check the torque on the rings every few weeks or had ride.

Not driven every day, but I do drive it when I want to. .
