Those of you using the AFE intakes...
How do you like em? And which one do you have? ( the open or fully enclosed air box ) I use to have a dodge cummins prior to my jk and I put an afe intake on the cummins and it helped out a great deal with my mileage.... So I'm debating on purchasing another afe intake for my jk and hopefully I will get the same mileage benefits out of it like it did the cummins..... Im pretty well stuck on afe due to the fact that how thick there filter gauze is compared to a k&n or other brands to help out the filtering..... Anyways thanks for any info you guys might post
I don't have an intake on my jeep yet but i'm also curious about how well they work however i'm very familiar with the cummins and i believe that the intake won't have as big of an impact on the jeeps as it does with the dodge IMO
I have the sealed box Afe ...it looks really sharp..sound pretty good past 2500 RPM's...My only issue is..... NOW I want a snorkel ....and I cant use it.Not compatible w/ safari or AEV.....It took a whole 25 minutes to Install....
I have the enclosed aFe installed and got one that was less than impressive. After I ordered they went to backorder - when I finally got it, it must have been made on a Monday after a hard drinking weekend - or they're all the same, don't know haven't seen any others installed. The overall fit and quality were pretty poor IMO for the price.
I can feel the difference between it and stock so it seems to work.

Just put mine on, got a great deal on a like new one w/a bunch of goodies. I like the AFE as it seems it seals off against under hood heat the best & the dry filter. Fit was great on mine & was a snap. Sounds good in the upper RPMs and I could feel a difference. Other then getting a great deal through classifieds on a it & some other goodies that came with it, I felt it was worth it. I wouldnt have gone out and bought a new one alone though, for what I see them going for.
