Default Thoughts on an adjustable front track bar.

I'm thinking about buying an adjustable front track bar so that I can ditch my track bar bracket and drop pitman arm and keep my front axle centered and avoid bump steer. I'm looking at the Zone track bar, but haven't heard any reviews on them and at $139 shipped to my door its one hell of a value if its decent quality and doesn't flex like the early model jks ones did.

and also the Rock Krawler bomb proof adjustable front track bar I found for $165 shipped. I've heard good things about it and they're forum sponsors .

Anyone know of any other options that are around $150?

Why do you want to do this?

The bracket and pitman arm correct your suspension and steering geometry. The adjustable track bar will allow you to recenter your axle, but will do a minimum to correct geometry.

If you did away with the drop pitman arm and the trackbar bracket, wouldn't you have to do a drag link flip?

On your original question though, I have a Full Traction Front Adjustable trackbar I bought off a member here and David @ Northridge recommended a JKS Rear Adjustable Trackbar. You could pm either David @ Northridge or Bryan [Bustabiz] @ 4WD - either will hook you up with a good product at a great price

The track bar bracket loosened up on me and caused the steering to go off center when I would hit a bump, and also I had some death wobble b/c of it that was very unnerving a few months ago. I seem to have it taken care of for now by adding a 1/2 bolt in the place of the 3/8 bolt and some flanged washers. I'm really doing this for piece of mind b/c my wife and I just had our first (a boy ). I don't want anymore dw.... ever... and from what I've learned here and experienced, a good adjustable front track bar is the best way to achieve it. The reason I'm trying to keep costs down is b/c this baby is taking every dime I have .

I don't know about the drag link flip... never even heard of that. I dont' see how doing away w/ the drop pitman and trackbar bracket would make my lift any different from a lift kit (such as the TF 2.5) that doesn't include them.

I like the teraflex adjustable, but everywhere I've seen it it's been a lot more than the rock krawler adjustable.

Anyone know if David @ northridge carry's any adjustable trackbars for under $175? I'll check w/ bustabiz as well if I can find him.

has anyone had or know somebody who has, experience w/ zone off road's adjustable track bar??? still haven't gotten any feedback whatsoever on this forum.

This brace is beefy and I have not had any DW ever since. Something to look into as well.
So you added a brace AND an adjustable track bar? I've heard of the stock track bar bracket being weak, so I might have to check mine tomorrow to see if its starting to crack or what. Most track bar brackets I've seen mount on the frame side of the track bar, mine mounts on axle side, not sure if that matters

Keep in mind that DW can be caused by any number of things, especially with the JKs which seem to have a higher propensity for DW than the TJs. Don't think that doing this one thing will prevent DW from ever coming back. The OEM ball joints are junk and can cause DW. Tire balance (dyanmic, not static or spin) is also a key contributor. Make sure you keep the geometry in line when you eliminate the bracket and go to an adjustable track bar. Hence the reference to flipping the drag link, which may or may not correct the geometry issues.

My point was basically this - you have to be wary of DW constantly. Never take it for granted, especially with that new son. Congrats.
